The east-northeasternmost point of the U.S. is located in northern Maine near the town of Hamlin, where the U.S./Canadian border turns abruptly south.  There's a border crossing here and a U.S./Canadian Customs office.

The actual east-northeasternmost point is about 200 yards to the north of here through the thick forest and on the St. John River, but that's on private property and I didn't want to get accosted by the Customs folks.  Kinda suspicious, eh?  Some guy wandering around the forest right on the U.S./Canadian border?  So this is as far east-northeast as I went.
