Calf Creek Plateau near Lake City, Colorado: July 11, 2016
I spent my first summer as a BLM ranger, in 1983, working on a trail crew in the Powderhorn Wilderness Area. I was stationed at the Powderhorn Lakes and every few weeks I'd hike up to Calf Creek Plateau, at an elevation of 12,800', and got a beautiful view of the two lakes. Believe me, you don't want to be here during a lightning storm.
